Shannon Anderson, MPA
Shannon Anderson grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado and attended the University of Denver earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. Soon after graduating, she established Anderson Property Inspections, an environmental consulting group in southern Colorado which has since grown to be one of the premier firms in the region. This firm is currently being operated by her husband, Ted.
In 2012, Shannon made the decision to continue her education, and obtained a Master’s degree in Public Administration. She graduated as student of the year with honors from the University of Colorado in 2014. During her Master’s program, she was the primary intern for the non-profit InnerCHANGEWORKS (ICW) managing the Nicaraguan youth troupe for community transformation. This established program is a youth-mentorship based project of ICW that employs theater and the performing arts in creating healthy and empowered communities in partnership with the Universidad Americana in Managua, Nicaragua.
Most recently, she works as a consultant performing research and analytic work. She is also the co-founder of The International Institute for Higher Education, a non-profit organization based in New Mexico which focuses on international cultural awareness and leadership training.
