Gary is one of the top economists in Colorado with over 30 years of experience conducting high-profile business, economic, and market research for Colorado business and government leaders, policymakers, and economic developers. He received his undergraduate degree in mathematics from Ft Lewis College and has a Masters in Education from Oregon State University and an MBA from the University of Colorado. Gary served as project lead on business, economic, and marketing research projects at the University of Colorado’s Business Research Division. He has directed annual employment forecasts of the state economy, state and local economic indices, and monthly statewide economic updates. His research evaluated workforce development, economic development, and education competencies of all 64 Colorado counties. He secured an EDA grant to prepare a roadmap for nanotechnology in Colorado and helped establish the Colorado Photonics Industry Association (CPIA). As a member of CPIA, he is the electronics/photonics committee chair of the Office of Economic Development and International Trade Advanced Industry grant program.
